8 Best Things To Take Home From Jaipur

Along with the Bazaars of Old Delhi, Jaipur is one of my favourite shopping destinations. Jaipur's markets are brimming with vibrant hues that will persuade you to buy them. It houses everything attractive - Amazing stylish shirts for men's  & women's clothing, household linen, jewellery, and the omnipresent puppets. Walking through the Pink Corridors while shopping for Jaipur Souvenirs is a delight in this planned city.

Not only do ancient bazaars exist in Jaipur, but so do several local businesses such as Anokhi and Soma, which provide a distinct blend of history and modern sensibility.

Top 8 Things To Buy From Jaipur

1. Block Printed Clothes

Jaipur is well-known for its textiles. The ancient Rajasthani textile method and handicrafts made here are well-known not only in the country but also globally. Tourists that visit Jaipur make a point of purchasing Jaipuri rugs and rajasthani block printed shirts and readymade clothes , women’s blocks and other handmade goods on their journey back home. This is not available anyplace else in the nation.

2. Bandhani Work

Rajasthan's distinctive pattern is bandhani, commonly known as tie and dye. Its method is laborious in that threads are knotted around a portion of the fabric before dyeing it. When you untie and remove the strands, you understand how much work goes into making these simple yet gorgeous designs. Bandhani was once known as Pulakband.

Do you know that the Bandhani design may be seen in several Ajanta paintings?

Choose your favourite colours. Bandhani is available in a variety of shapes and styles, allowing you to experiment. Pick up the unstitched fabric and let your imagination run wild.

3. Meenakari Work

Meenakari or enamel work on metal is done on Jhumkis and pendants, it provides a magical effect. Traditionally, it was done in red and green, but it is also found in different hues such as pink and blue.

This lightweight yet luxurious-looking jewellery is a must-have in Jaipur.

Gulabi Minakari or Meenakari in pink colour, by the way, wasn't from Jaipur but is made in Varanasi.

Small colourful antiques are my particular favourites in Meenakari craftsmanship. The peacock in Meenakari is beautiful. I bought a little Ganesha figurine with Meenakari art for myself.

4. Kundan Jewels

Kundan is a highly old style of Indian gemstone jewellery that is thought to have originated in the royal courts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. This highlights the importance of buying traditional Kundan jewellery before waving goodbye to Jaipur for the last time.

Kundan, which dates back to the Mughal era, is essentially uncut gemstones set with gold foil between them and used in hefty and intricate jewellery items in Rajasthan.

Even now, many brides wear Kundan jewellery, which looks extremely stunning. Meenakari work in reverse may be seen in a lot of Kundan jewellery created in Jaipur, giving you a piece of jewellery that can be worn both ways. You can easily locate some wonderful Kundan Jewellery sets in Jaipur's Johari Bazar neighbourhood.

5. Blue Pottery

If you enjoy eye-catching artefacts and the colour blue, Jaipur Blue Pottery is a must-see. The strikingly gorgeous blue dye used to colour the pottery gives rise to the blue pottery that does not need clay. The pottery is decorated with nature-inspired themes — animal/bird motifs and geometric patterns – making it incredibly appealing and charming.

The handcrafted art is believed to have started in Middle East Asia and was brought to India in the 17th century. Jaipur's collection and patterns in blue pottery artwork are highly recommended and are thus one of the key attractions to buying in Jaipur. Well, Jaipur Blue Pottery goods include tiles, vases, coasters, and beads, as well as kitchen utensils, stationery, and home decoration items that make excellent souvenirs from Jaipur.

6. Choorma

The Choorma of Rajasthan's famed Daal Baati Choorma is now nicely wrapped and convenient to transport back home. If I'm not mistaken, this is the sweet dish that can be stored for several days, as opposed to Ghevar, which has a short shelf life.

Choorma is a ghee-rich dish that is heavy on the stomach yet light on the tongue.

7. Puppets

A puppet performance could be seen almost anywhere in Jaipur or the rest of Rajasthan. For the show, most high-end hotels have included puppet houses. Everywhere you go in Jaipur City, someone will approach you and try to sell you a puppet.

Colourful puppets are a fantastic idea for house décor and for small children to play with, in my opinion. You may commission them to produce a puppet drama or dance.

A basic pair of puppets may be purchased for as little as Rs 100/-.

8. Jaipuri Rajai ( Quilts )

Jaipur quilts are well-known for being lightweight and resilient without compromising warmth. Unlike traditional Indian quilts, these are far from dull and come in a variety of stunning bright colours, designs, block print, patchwork, and so on.

Jaipur quilts are made using ancient techniques such as cotton carding, cotton voile manufacturing, and quilting.

Because they are lightweight, they are very easy to transport. The price of a single-bed quilt begins at about INR 600, which is not too expensive. As a result, purchasing anything from Jaipur is a necessity.
